My Mother's Birthday

March 1st

Today would be my mothers birthday. Happy Birthday dear dead mother! I wish you made it into your eighties. Even so you had a challenging life.

You were born at the beginning of the last century. In your youthful times the world was not open to artist women, yet you forced The Fates to create it for you. Such a hard enviromental profession, the glazes were loaded with lead, the paints, the heat of the kilns, the hardness of the clay - you made it softer as you mixed it. The white plaster that was good for the skin, left it smooth afterwards. You were sick a lot from the inhaled materials in your studio.

I am older now then you were when you passed on.

Deep Peace of the flowing air to you.
